diacritic marks

diacritic marks
diacritic marks, apostrophes or diaereses are not to be used in a taxonomic name and are to be deleted from such names originally published with them, e.g. the German umlaut sign is deleted from a vowel and should be replaced by an \'e\' inserted after the vowel, but only for taxonomic names based on German words and published before 1985
